We are marching to Angola on June 19th to stand in solidarity with our incarcerated family, and demand that our state, our government, our officials, and our voters show up for those locked behind prison walls not โjustโ physically โbutโ legislatively.
โ
On this Junteenth we ask:
๐ฃHow can we celebrate when our brothers and sisters are still yelling I Canโt Breathe?
๐ฃHow can we celebrate when our brothers and sisters are locked in cells, with no hope of release?
๐ฃHow can we celebrate when our brothers and sisters know punishment like solitary and COVID-19?
๐ฃHow can we celebrate our freedom this Juneteenth, when our brothers and our sisters are still slaves to a system that would rather punish them with violence and then silence their humanity?
