Location starts at Metro Waste Facility (9725 Old Gentilly Road) and then moves to the Winn Dixie (9701 Chef Menteur Hwy) around 7 am.
Here are the City Waste Union demands:
Provide PPE to all workers immediately and consistently on a daily basis.
Fix broken trucks that leak toxic hydraulic uid on workers daily.
Provide hourly pay rate of $15 per hour.
—Workers currently receive only 10.25 per hour with no benefits!—Provide weekly hazard pay of $150 per week.
