Host: New Orleans Mutual Aid Society
Location: Angela Davis Parkway (Neutral ground at Davis and Canal in New Orleans)
You're invited to an abolitionist crawfish boil this Sunday!
The New Orleans Mutual Aid Society has relocated to mid-City, and as part of our transition, we are committing to food support grounded in our immediate neighborhood. We will be phasing out our food and grocery delivery service over the next two weeks (except in cases of food emergency) in order to focus on supporting the neighbors closest to us.
To celebrate this transition, we're inviting YOU to a canvassing party and free community crawfish boil this Sunday, June 28!
We will meet on the neutral ground at Davis and Canal at 3pm on Sunday to canvass our neighborhood and distribute leaflets about our work. (We'd love your help pounding the pavement if you'd like to join us!) The flyer will also be inviting neighbors to our community crawfish boil at 6pm! We'll have speakers sharing their perspectives on mutual aid and Black liberation, members of other liberatory organizations in the city providing information on their work, and plenty of food and good company! (Please bring a blanket and wear a mask!) Please note: this is a sober event.
We are so grateful for your ongoing support of NOMAS, and we're excited to share our vision of how mutual aid can contribute to abolition now! Please join us Sunday, and feel free to bring friends and family.
