Black Lives Matter Rally and March for Black Women @WorkersGroupNO

  • Hardin Park 2501 New Orleans Street New Orleans, LA, 70119 United States (map)

Hosted by: New Orleans Workers Group

Meet at Hardin Park followed by a march to Congo Square.

When a Black woman (Trans or Cis) is murdered by state sanctioned violence or internalized oppression that shows up in the form of domestic or community violence, who rises for us?

Black lives matter, means each and every Black life, yet some how Black women are an after thought and Black trans women are an after-after thought.

We say NO more!

In the name of self-determination, Black women will come together in mass on Saturday, and if YOU care about or love Black women, you will show up for us too.

We ALL must fight against exploitation and oppression. And workers have a special role in the fight against capitalism. And white people have a special role in the fight against racism. And men have a special role in the fight against patriarchy. And Black men have a special role in the fight to end violence against Black women, both Trans & Cis.

Malcolm X said: “The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman.”

In reference to Claudia Jones, Denise Lynn said: “Black women faced “Not equality, but degradation and super-exploitation.” She warned that the result would be an uprising of Black women and a new more powerful militancy.”

Thomas Sankara said: “Comrades, there is no true social revolution without the liberation of women. May my eyes never see and my feet never take me to a society where half the people are held in silence. I hear the roar of women's silence.”

On Saturday, July 18th we will roar & RISE! Who will stand & RISE with us!
